😖Before my Hashimoto’s diagnosis, I was a hot 😖Before my Hashimoto’s diagnosis, I was a hot mess of anxiety, exhaustion and brain fog up to my eyeballs.

Then I got the diagnosis and guess what? 😠NOTHING CHANGED😠. I wasn’t “bad enough” to go on thyroid medication and my doctor said there was nothing else I could do but WAIT for it to get worse… forever 🙃

I have never cried so hard. I have never felt so defeated. At 24ish I felt like my life was over. That is not an exaggeration.

😏BUT THEN I decided I wouldn’t let this sh*t be my reality.  I educated myself like effing crazy. I got myself out of toxic situations. I used food as medicine and I started working on my internal emotional wreckage (that turned out to be the biggest missing piece!)

🤯Now, after getting Hashimoto’s into remission and spending years helping other women do the same, I’ve put EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW into a super digestible, effortless and uplifting course 😍🤩🥳

😯Curious about how I’m eating DF GF and all t 😯Curious about how I’m eating DF GF and all the things in Mexico for Hashimoto’s??

I’ve had some messages wondering how TF it’s working out so I thought I’d share!

As someone who is using food as medicine and understands that food has a huge impact on healing, going on holiday or moving around can be stressful. When you know consuming some gluten could set off an autoimmune response in your body, etc., it can cause a lot of anxiety - and I’ve been there. I still go there sometimes.

Fortunately, in Mexico, a lot of it is corn based (so naturally gluten free - although, of course, I always check!). Tacos have definitely been my friend. Also, cheese (or queso!) is often optional/added, so you can ask for it to be left off. Gluten is also called gluten in Spanish, which helps 😅

In an ideal world, I don’t want to consume corn, or not much of it, because it can be inflammatory and impact your gut health plus a lot of it is GMO. HOWEVER, at this stage in my healing, I am finding more food freedom and able to experiment around a little (FINALLY 😅😅)

ALSSSSSO, FYI, tequila is one of the “cleanest”/least terrible alcohol options for Hashimoto’s… so that helps 😜😜

That being said, here are some of my tips for eating on holiday/in a new way place with Hashimoto’s:

1. Learn “gluten free” (insert other dietary requirement) in the language of the country

2. Screenshot the translation of key words you want to say to restaurant staff 

3. Opt for dishes that have the least potential for a problem e.g. I often go for a meat/veg meal

4. Ask about ingredients in sauces, cooking oils, anything that’s fried/breaded, etc… AND DON’T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT. Your health comes first 💖

5. Bring snacks or even eat something beforehand so you’re not HANGRY if there aren’t any options 

6. Peep the menu beforehand so you’ve got a good idea of what might work

7. Ask for the allergen menu! I’ve found they often have these with symbols in European countries 😍

There is so much you can do to make eating out accessible, but if you don’t feel comfortable with it yet, then don’t put pressure on yourself. Things change as you heal💖

3 random things you might not know about me… 😝 the last one is a bit controversial 😉

1. I’m EXTREMELY bad at practical tasks, to the point that Joe basically has to do everything practical for me 🙈… opening packages, building things, driving, pretty much even tying my shoe laces!!

2. I LOVE personality tests and anything that helps you understand yourself and others better 🤓

I’m an ENFP personality type in Myers Briggs: “A Campaigner (ENFP) is someone with the Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits. These people tend to embrace big ideas and actions that reflect their sense of hope and goodwill toward others. Their vibrant energy can flow in many directions.” 

I’m also a Manifestor in Human Design, a Capricorn sun/Aries moon/Gemini rising! 🔮. Anyone else like me??

3. People ALWAYS open up to me about their s*x lives and relationships 😏… and I’m totally open to talking about it! My bestie @passthecoco_ actually thinks I should become a sex/relationships therapist at some point! Watch this space… haha! 😅😈

Pre🩸vibes hitting hard today. Reminding myself Pre🩸vibes hitting hard today. Reminding myself (and you) that it’s okay to rest when you need to. It doesn’t make you a lazy, worthless sack of 💩, like our brains love to tell us.

What is the alternative? What happens when you ignore your needs, your inner knowing, your seasons and even your cyclical nature?

You burn out. You flare up. You get further away from vibrant, thriving health and reinforce the belief that you aren’t worthy or deserving of respect.

I’m speaking from experience here 😉 

What is your body telling you today? How could you listen a little more?

Your body carries so much wisdom, we’ve just got to learn how to tune in + respond 💖

PS Totally felt an instant urge to somehow edit my chin spots out of this (not that I know how 🤣). Proud of myself for not doing that + showing my body some respect 🌞
